So how often will the classes be re offered from this session?…example if I miss PPE this time when could I take it again. Also is registration online possible?
Unfortunately, online registration is not possible at this time. You just have to call our registration office. If you miss one particular course this round, I will try to run the sessions again within a few months and keep them on a cycle.
Do we have to buy books for the classes or will the information we need be online?
Depends on the classes. The ONLY class that REQUIRES a book right now is the Hybrid EMT class.
For the FF 1&2 classes. Will there be any other weekend classes other then April 19th & 20th, may 31 and june 1st?
Hey Thomas, these two weekends are just for the current sessions. When we are finished with the next sessions, there will be more weekends for those classes. It will work out to a total of about 5 different weekends for the entire FF II program.
How much time is typically required to spend on each course on-line? The schedule shows approximately 30 days from the start of the course to the weekend where practicals and testing are completed.
Depending on the course topic…the times differ. Some Topics are 8-10 hours online while others are nearly 30 hours per topic of ONLINE material.
Can you start the FF course at any point? I gues what I am asking is, can I pick of the courses and start there or do i have to wait until the next time the program will be offered?
Hi Paul, you can pick up the courses at any point. But you better be quick…many of these courses are already full!
Can we take a online con-ed classes that you set up for a particular service? If I miss one that you are providing through Davidson, can I take it under another squad that you are doing?
The service calendars are specific for those services. Upon completion of the course for these agencies, we release the grades to the training officer for that service. We have to obtain FERPA release forms for each of these students before we can release those grades. Therefore, we are not able to allow anyone un-affiliated with that service to register.
Thanks for offering these. Keep them coming. How about Haz Mat Awareness and Prevention, Ed, and Cause. Those mostly classroom topics would seem easy to convert to on-line. Thanks for doing this. James.
Thanks James! We have those courses coming soon!
Do we need anything proving that we’re affiliated to get the registration fee waived?
Hi Evan, our registration office will ask you if you are fee exempt and what qualifies you as fee exempt.
Can you tell me which of the EMT courses are considered Basic for the fullfillment of an EMT Basic certification?
The Hybrid EMT course is the course that is designed for someone with NOTHING to become an EMT. The Hybrid EMT “Refresher” course is designed for someone who has let his/her credential expire (no more than 4 years) OR someone who needs to recredential as an EMT.
In other words, the “Refresher” is for someone who is already an EMT and the regular Hybrid EMT course is for someone who wants to be an EMT.
How will it work on 6-12-08 with the two classes at the same time if your in both?
Sorry wrong date i meant to put 7-12-08
You will need to miss the EMT class and attend the Firefighting courses. We have a make-up plan for students who miss that date.
You will have to:
a. Complete a CPR class elsewhere and give us a copy of the card.
b. Take OUR CPR test at another time.
What Version of the CPR class is needed?
Hey Brent…we need the course for Professional Rescuers.
Hey Kelly is the Hybrid Emt program full yet? I think I am going to go ahead and register. So what do I have to do to get my RT the NCDOI doesnt explain it too well on their site.
When are you going to have a Hybrid RT class?
We will have to evaluate the needs once we are finished with the Firefighter Courses.
Jessica, the Hybrid EMT has room. You would need to talk with Tad Byrum regarding the RT certifications.
What firefighter 1,2 classes will be offered for july?
